3/8'' Pine, 95-100lbs. As before, no defects, straight, quality wood.
I was very happy with this batch of shafts. Almost all of them are between 95-100lbs spine based on my measurements. The weight was as expected between 530-580 grains for 2/3 of them but for 6 shafts the weight was between 600-700 grins. This is not bad, I will be able to use these for bows with heavy siyahs that require large GPP.
3/8 in. Pine, 95-100lbs. The shafts where straight, with no defects, the grain orientation was very straight with no defects whatsoever throughout the length of the shaft. It's a quality piece of wood.
As I mentioned in my previous order you need to get a spine that's +5lbs compared to what you need. Most of the shafts were around 90-95lbs, 3 where 96-97lbs and three where 89lbs. The weight was between 515gr to 573gr max, most where around 520-540gr.
3/8 in, 90-95lbs, PIne: The shafts where straight with no defects. The weight is smaller that I thought, most are around 550gr, some go as low as 490 gr. Additionally the actual spine was around 82-92lbs, Most where around 85lbs, so on average 6lbs less than advertised. For a "light" war bow, of 70-80lbs, this is tool light and to soft and it will be hard (imposible) to keep the total arrow weight at 10gpp. My recommendation is to choose 95-100lbs, you can always put a heavier tip.
