Small round needle made from animal bone for needlebinding.
This sturdy needle made from animal bone is primarily used for needlebinding (nålebinding). It differs from modern knitting needles in that it has a hole for threading. Unlike modern sewing needles, it is also much wider in circumference, and the tip of the needle for needlebinding is blunt, preventing accidental piercing of the wool yarn.
This bone needle can also be used as a large sewing needle, but only for knitted items with wide stitches or stretchy threads. Otherwise, the blunt tip will not penetrate the material and will leave holes in the fabric due to the width of the large sewing needle.
Length: approx. 6 cm
Max. diameter: approx. 5-6 mm
Hole size: approx. 5 x 2 mm
This product is handmade from natural materials. Small deviations in dimensions, colour, etc. are therefore to be expected and do not constitute grounds for complaint.
