Bone Dice Small

Small dice made of bone after historical models.

This replica of a historical bone dice was made entirely by hand from cattle bones and is based on finds of bone dice from the time of the Vikings and the Middle Ages.

Cubes of bone were already in use in the pre-Roman Iron Age and remained in use throughout the turmoil of the Migration Period and the Viking Age until the late Middle Ages.
Thus bone dice are still an ideal and authentic accessory for the historically correct representation of many epochs.

Characteristic for the bone dice of antiquity and the Middle Ages are the striking circular eye decorations. Size and drilling of the eyes make each bone dice an individual unique piece.
As it was usual with the historical bone dice, our replicas are also not completely exact. The bone dice may have slight irregularities in shape, size and colouring, but this does not really matter too much if all players play with the same dice.

The average side length of the individual dice is approx. 10 - 12 mm and is therefore considerably smaller than the modern dice used today.
